United States of Tara has ended for this season. Any final thoughts on this show for the year?
I will miss Tara! I think my s.o. will too. Somehow, she has helped to normalize things at least a little bit.
i am really glad that the final episode made it pretty clear that tara split before that incident in boarding school. also it seemed to me like there were more parts than the ones we met, something buck said in the last episode made that seem likely.
a week or two ago, we had some friends over and were watching the earlier episodes with them (they hadn’t seen the show yet). i noticed in one of the first few episodes that someone had written “gimmie” on tara’s bathroom wall. so that was cool foreshadowing. and we watched the episode where the mural was destroyed, and at the end, it really did seem like tara had a little kid alter… i don’t know if this happened for other people, but in my system the little kids used to be just below the surface, not all the way out, but kind of peeking, and they would affect the things that i did. and that’s what seemed to be happening with tara at the end of the episode when she was talking with her sister (“we NEVER get to have any friends”) and playing the hand clapping game.
i’m really looking forward to next season. it’s too bad we have to keep waiting until january. my partner is really upset about that, because it’s such a long wait.
